My mother was in a large place. There were probably 300 residents and not enough activity. And she was alone all the time.
So I looked for a place near me so I could see her often.

As soon as I walked into Scharf's Ateret Avot I said this is the place for my mother.
Everybody was so lovely and warm. Everybody knew everybody else. And there were so many activities. I saw this atmosphere immediately because I had visited other places and it wasn't like this.

My mother has been able here, at Scharf's Ateret Avot, to continue her lifestyle, which is one of activism.
She has been written up in a number of newspapers: in Alan Magill's article in The Jewish Press, and, more recently, a full page in the Daily News, with our picture in it.
Alan's article talks about my mother's work on behalf of Jews all over the world, particularly in Israel.
